Well quite frankly these days unless you have a blog, you are a bit of a nobody, and thus feeling myself quite the man about town, clearly felt that what I have to say is not just readable, but quite frankly blogable!

My name is Gareth Johnson, and I have spent the last 11 years traversing the globe, doing everything from bartender, sailor, teacher, and now to my current incarnation of running a super cool travel company, a consulting firm, and whenever I get the chance leading tours to the places that quite frankly your mother would rather you stayed away from. That being said, after 11 years of this stuff, my mother is largely indifferent to where I go…..

I find a lot of blogs to either be a little self-indulgent, or quite frankly boring, so with this one I aim to be neither of the above, but realistically will probably end up a bit of a mixture of the two!

For YPT we also have our far more conservative company blog, to keep people up to date on everything tour related. This here is my own personal, at times probably borderline offensive mouthpiece about what its like traversing the stranger places of the world, and living and doing in work in the Communist “Partay” that is China.

Eventually I would like “clearlynotthecase” to turn into the kind of travel blog frequented by the masses and loved by all, so please keep with me as I experiment with the site and try to make it as good as my limited web abilities allow (I made this all by myself)

Both from a business, and a pleasure point of view, I am always looking for travel opportunities, companions, or not to put too fine a point on it free trips!!!!!! So do get in touch if there is anything you would like to throw my way.

As my personal space, rather than the companies, please also feel free to give me some of that there internet money, by donating to me via Paypal, or paying to advertise here.

And as for the name “clearlynotthecase”, back in the days we called the late 90’s that was my little phrase I would use, so then it was my first e-mail address. and now being the rich internet entrepreneur that I am felt it only right that this be the domain for me to communicate to the world from.

To donate free trips to me, inquire about advertising, or to merely shoot the shit, please drop me an e-mail, or check out my links through the contact page.
